Driver dies after fiery rollover crash near Palo
One person died early Wednesday after a single vehicle crash near Palo in Linn County. First responders found a car that had rolled into a ditch and burst into flames at Covington and Chain Bridge roads at 2:08 a.m. The driver’s identity was not released and the body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Ankeny for autopsy. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.

72-year-old man seriously hurt after Cedar Rapids crash
A 72-year-old pedestrian was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a car while walking in southeast Cedar Rapids at First Avenue East and 21st Street SE.
