Bond set at 2 million in Evelyn Miller murder case
Floyd County Iowa judge ordered a 2 million bond for Casey Frederiksen an Illinois inmate charged with first degree murder and first degree sexual abuse in the 2005 death of 5 year old Evelyn Miller. He remains in federal custody on prior convictions with a preliminary hearing slated Oct 26.

Fired UI radiologist seeks protective order over contact with staff
An attorney for the University of Iowa asks a judge for a protective order to prevent Malik Juweid from contacting university employees or defendants in a discrimination suit. Juweid, a 51 year old radiology professor, was fired in August after a panel found he compromised patient confidentiality and harassed co workers. Cedar Falls crash claims life of 20 year old woman
Karli Hilgenberg, 20, of Cedar Rapids, died in a Monday crash at Highway 58 and Viking Road Cedar Falls. A northbound semi driven by Richard Evans, 44, of Charles City, struck her southbound car as she turned left. Officials said she died at the scene and the investigation continues.
