Iowa Supreme Court Denies Emerson Murder Appeal
The Iowa Supreme Court rejected a Wyoming man Jerry Lee Emerson's appeal of his first degree murder conviction for the two year old shooting death of his wife in Jones County. The court ruled an emergency entry by a deputy without a warrant was justified and evidence observed was admissible. It also held prior testimony about a party fight and Emerson's amnesia did not warrant relitigation or a new trial. Emerson is serving a life sentence at Anamosa.
