Safety door missing as dog escapes shelter truck

In Linn County Iowa a Cedar Rapids Animal Shelter truck lacked a safety door when a northwest side man's dog escaped. Randy Hewitt seeks 1500 dollars for negligence after his German shepherd died following the escape. Shelter staff testified the door was removed to transport a lawn mower.
