In Burleson Texas teachers and students are being trained to rush an armed intruder rather than cower. The program by Response Options teaches use of classroom objects as improvised weapons and to lock onto attacker's limbs to bring them down.

Cornell alumnus gives 5 million to fund Berry Center in Mount Vernon
A 1965 Cornell College graduate, James McWethy of Downers Grove Illinois, donates 5 million dollars to establish the Berry Center for Economics Business and Public Policy on the Mount Vernon campus. The gift, the college's second largest ever, honors Lester Berry founder of Berry Bearing Co. in Chicago. The center will train students in applied economics and public policy within the economics department.
