Richard S. Zacek, 36, of Cedar Rapids, pleaded guilty Thursday to a 1969 murder charge and faces a 40 year recommended sentence after a pre trial hearing. The case involved the killing of Jean Halverson near Mohawk park. Judge Louis Schultz scheduled sentencing for Nov 4.
