Iowa trucking firm tied to deadly smuggling shut down
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration ordered Pyle Transportation to an out-of-service status after a safety review found multiple deficiencies. The action follows the July discovery of eight undocumented immigrants dead in a semi-trailer owned by the Schaller, Iowa, company, with the driver indicted but the owner saying he did not know of the deaths.
