Iowa advisers urge fuel tax and registration increases
A state advisory commission recommends raising the fuel tax by 8 to 10 cents per gallon and vehicle registrations by 1 percentage point to fund road and infrastructure needs. The plan, part of a report to the Legislature, also includes studies on hybrid vehicle fees and vehicle use distinctions.
