Mrs. Glen Thompson hosted a miscellaneous bridal shower Saturday for Miss Phyllis Hutchison who will wed David Jewel Aldridge this Saturday. Co-hostess for 25 guests was Mrs. John Riley. A Missouri reader asks if Bryant McCampbell invented the 4 3 2 1 point count. In 1915 McCampbell advised Milton Work to value an ace at 4, king 3, queen 2, jack 1 for no trump. Work popularized it as the Work count, later extended by Goren to include doubletons singletons and voids. Today it is known as the point count or the Goren count.
