Douglas county deputies say three raids in Omaha and Carter Lake Iowa recovered thousands in stolen goods including guns watches jewelry cameras and office equipment. Four people were arrested with two Omaha adults in jail and a 17 year old held pending juvenile court hearings. Cooperating agencies included Omaha police Carter Lake and Douglas county sheriff offices.

A 22-year-old Hedrick man, Steven Michael Sieren, was killed when a truck backed over him at Crow's Hybrid Seed Corn Co. in Nevada. Driver John Hunter, 24, of Nevada, was involved. Sieren, a Vietnam veteran, had worked two weeks for the firm and previously held jobs at Arco Chemical and Kingsberry Homes. He leaves parents, siblings, and grandparents. Funeral services are set for St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sigourney with a rosary at the church the prior evening.
