Agricultural Fair Season Reported As Best In Years
Iowa's fair season ended with the National Dairy Cattle Congress in Waterloo and was called the best in years by Secretary A R Corey. He cited profit margins at county fairs and larger expositions, a state fair profit near five thousand dollars, and receipts around 185000 against 175000 in expenses. Weather mostly favorable, with only a week of heavy rain hurting attendance in September. Livestock prices rose, breeders prepared for circuits, and shows improved in central and northern Iowa despite drought and pest damage to crops.
