Post notes 1 041 members. complex entertainment night featured amateur acts with Darlene Trout 7, Tillman Sisters Nevillene 4 and Marietta 5, and a crowd of local children.

Hanford Legion Names New Commander B D Silliman

Members of the Hanford American Legion post elected local attorney B D Silliman as commander for the coming year at Tuesday night’s meeting. Other officers were also chosen during the session, with the group affirming the slate for the year ahead.

Joseph Loufek Heads John Huss Church Epworth League

At a recent Epworth League meeting of the John Huss Methodist church, officers for the coming year were elected. Joseph Loufek was chosen president with Arthur Kuehn first vice president and Elsie Teffer second vice president. Priscilla Smith third vice president and Emily Stelcik fourth. Joe Stepanek and Anna Lanna were named secretaries, Katherine Hunter intendent, and Charlotte Burlingham assistant superintendent. They will be installed at a combined Epworth League and service next Sunday evening.

Funeral services for Solomon White in Crawfordsville

Solomon White age 92 of Crawfordsville, a longtime resident since 1854, was buried after funeral services at the Crawfordsville United Presbyterian church. Born October 5, 1840 in Rush County, Indiana, he married Levina Frances Pratt on January 1, 1863, who died in 1919. Surviving are five children including Mrs. J M Maxwell, Mrs. P F Maxwell, Mrs. Ames Long, Harry White, and W S White of Davenport.

Sheriff Sale Notice in Linn County Iowa Court

A sheriff sale notice issued after a September 26 1932 judgment in favor of S George Hebbens against James Johnson lists a promissory note of 1000 dollars dated March 28 1932 due before March 30 1933 and a 1932 sale set for October 29 1932 at Cedar Rapids Iowa Court door at 10 1 o clock in the morning. The sale is to be conducted by Deputy Radebauch and D Randall attorney, with costs of 36.95 and other costs accruing.

Iowa City Man Fined 350 for Liquor Charge

Special to The Gazette reports BE. A. Stim mel of Iowa City was fined 350 and costs in district court after pleading guilty to a liquor in possession charge. The court ordered destruction of eighty gallons of alcohol seized at arrest. Stim mel had faced illegal transportation charges stemming from the September arrest.
