U S Soldier Fires Shot at Kuwait Vehicle
An Army Humvee on a Kuwait City highway was fired upon by a civilian in another vehicle. A single shot was fired by a U S soldier. the bullet hit the hood and no one was injured. The incident followed a deadly al Qaida linked attack on Marines the day prior on Failaka Island. Lance Cpl Antonio Sledd, 20, of Tampa Florida, was killed and Lance Cpl George Simpson, 21, of Dayton Ohio, was wounded. Both served with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit at Camp Pendleton.
