Norm and Philena Peyton run a large foster home at about 3025 12th Ave. They care for newborns and teenage boys, welcoming each child as a person. The couple say they enjoy caring for many children and see no difference between raising one or many.
The Peyton home in Linn County takes in teens from various agencies, dealing with behavior and drug issues while guiding them to graduation. Court actions include cases of indecent contact and assault with various sentences. eight drunk driving convictions and several probation orders are noted. The couple describe fostering as a long-term commitment, hoping one foster son graduates and planning to wind down after the teens leave.
