REG to Post Wider Loss Despite Higher Biodiesel Forecast
Renewable Energy Group, Ames based biodiesel producer, now expects a third quarter EBITDA loss of 7 million dollars, wider than the 2 million previously forecast, even as sales outlook rises to 60 to 63 million gallons. The miss stems from high soybean prices, RIN price declines, and tighter margins. CEO Daniel Oh remains optimistic about long term prospects and notes a strong balance sheet and flexible feedstock tech.
