Block aims at major export push to boost grain sales
U S Agriculture Secretary John Block plans a Sunday reveal on Meet the Press of a new export program that could sell 1.5 billion bushels of grain next year. Rep Cooper Evans cites White House clearance as the key step, with ambassadors visiting Block’s Illinois farm and a prior reception drawing 150 foreign dignitaries. The plan may include an interest buy down to cut loan rates to 10 11 percent from private bank loans while addressing cargo preference law questions and unfreezing 500 million for the Commodity Credit Corp revolving fund.
