P. J. Whittemore age 81 of 1311 B Avenue NW died Friday after a brief illness. He served over 20 years as a Linn county deputy sheriff and was a World War I veteran. Survived by wife Amelia Reha and siblings in North Carolina, services at Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church Monday at 3 p.m. with burial at Cedar Memorial Cemetery and Hanford American Legion rites. Friends may call Turner chapel west and at the church.
Ramco Inc files suit in Linn district court to invalidate the Mini 16 Inc lease at 411 Second Avenue SE alleging fraud to obtain the sub lease. The petition says the building was marketed for a travel agency but was intended for showing obscene or immoral entertainment. Judge William Eads set October 21 for a hearing. The sub lease shows a two year term at $3,000 yearly with a three year renewal option.
Pamela Dighton, 19, of 402 H avenue NW, was arrested on a warrant for assault and battery. She posted own recognizance and is to appear Monday in Justice of the Peace Glenn Powers' court. The charge stems from an October 7 incident at Dianna Verderman’s home.
Kalell Hosien Kalell, 43, of 1716 Oakland Road NE, jailed Thursday morning for contempt of court, was released from Linn County Jail Thursday afternoon after paying 800 for the divorce decree child support.
Police in Hamilton Bermuda reported two Friday bombings a furniture store and a political sports club. Neither incident caused heavy damage.

Carl D. Randall aged 24 years died after a long illness Thursday. Born July 7, 1898 in Independence he married Helen Postell Sept. 11, 1923 in Rockford Illinois. Survived by wife two sons Leighton and Alan Randall Cedar Rapids a brother Ray Randall Waterloo and a sister Ethel Molls Decorah. Memorial services noon Saturday Turner chapel east by Rev Don Martin. Irma A. Dochterman 59 of 127 Twenty-eighth Street SE Cedar Rapids widow of Lewis J. William E. Anderson 83 of 1749 Twentieth Street NW Cedar Rapids died Thursday after a short illness born December 29 1886 in Monmouth. He married Ella Louise Fisher December 12 1910 in Rockton Illinois. Joyce Laurene Oepping of 418 Twenty second Street NE Cedar Rapids died Thursday in a car accident near Newton. Born October 1 1929 in Muscatine she was a member of Our Savior Lutheran church. Mary V. Riley Dulin-She died Thursday in Los Alamitos California at age 57. Born in Millersburg she lived most of her life in Cedar Rapids later moving to California two years ago. Reverend A F Hauser of Salem United Methodist church led Roger Edna L Beatty Bearle chapel service at 2 30 pm Friday. Burial followed at Cedar Memorial. Pauline Alberta Turner Auman’s service occurred Saturday at 1 30 pm led by Reverend A J Stokes and the Women's Relief Corps with burial at Shiloh cemetery.

The Quarter Moon Tribe claimed the Seattle ROTC building blast causing about 150000 dollars in damage. Perfect Park Home Garden Society claimed the Santa Barbara armory blast. President Nixon urged fast congressional action on anti bombing legislation and ordered Hoover to pursue suspects.
