Rumsfeld pledges to pursue bin Laden and al Qaeda leaders

Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld renewed the pledge to track down Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda leaders as the Afghanistan war passes its first anniversary. He noted the tape aired by Al Jazeera may or may not be bin Laden and cited ongoing efforts by a 90 nation coalition to remove Taliban influence and dismantle al Qaeda. The conflict has cost 39 U.S. lives and left about 10,000 troops in Afghanistan supporting the interim government of Hamid Karzai, with a wreath ceremony at Arlington honoring the fallen.
