28 Names on Ballot for City Primary Election
Cedar Rapids lists 28 candidates on the October 21 primary ballot across four offices. Nine seek mayor, seven for public improvements commissioner, seven for parks and public property, and five for public safety commissioner. Two finance commissioner and one riverfront improvement commissioner and one municipal court judge will not appear due to low totals. General election is November 4. SPRINGVILLE Brian Minish 15 son of Mr and Mrs George Minish Monday night received the Eagle Scout award He began Scouting in 1962 as a Cub In 1965 he became a Boy Scout and in 1968 he joined the Brian Minish Explorers He has earned 26 merit badges In 1968 he received his God and Country award and was elected to the Order of the Arrow He is vice president of a local 4 H club high school class president and a member of the Student Governing board at his school
