Lamb prices near a low level 9 00 top with January and May highs noted. Sluggish movement of prime cuts contrasted with steady to slightly higher hog bids. cattle and sheep markets mixed with widespread price levels unchanged or modestly higher.
Hog receipts total 12 000 with 4 000 direct and top hogs reaching 10 50. California calf market up to 10 40 for best yearlings and steers with fat cows steady around 4 25. Sheep receipts 8 000 with fat native lambs firm to high ranges and ewes around 2 50 to 3 50, summer shorn lambs at 8 25 and some 7 00.
Sioux City Iowa hog cattle and sheep receipts show steady to strong trading. Cattle receipts 3500 with long yearlings 9.75 to 9.85 per cwt and feeder bids 5.50 7.75 for stockers. Hogs receipts 4500 with 180 lb and lighter ranges 9.25 to 10.00. sows 9.35 to 9.75. Sheep receipts 2000 with natives around 8.50 and fat ewes 2.25 to 3.50. feeder lambs slow. Iowa hog receipts total 16 900 across yards and plants.
Omaha market report shows hog receipts at 6,000 with prices $7.00 to $10.15 and top $10.15 for 190-260 lb hogs. Cattle receipts 7,000 with steer and yearling prices $8.00 to $10.00, cows $4.25 to $5.25, vealers $7.00. Sheep receipts 6,500 weaker with native lambs around $8.00 to $8.35 and higher once held.
The Associated Press reports hog prices in Waterloo Ottumwa and Mason City show steady to lower trend for good to choice hogs. Price ranges are given by weight, including 140-150 lbs and up to 500-550 lbs, with variations by market and hog class.

H R Ekins, flying reporter, landed at Mingaladon airdrome in Rangoon in a Royal Dutch airliner at 3 50 p m to take a nearly 4000 mile lead over two rivals in the around the world air race.
Mrs Marie Siechert of 608 McKinley Street SE on behalf of the heirs of the Anna Lane estate says they have not aided or signed petitions for creating a new road to serve McKinley school. She cites board discussions suggesting owners seek garages access and property sales, asserting the estate has no active drive to sell or finance a road.
