Cedar Rapids begins curbside recycling with blue bins rollout
Cedar Rapids launches curbside recycling this week in the southwest area with blue bins for about 25 percent of homes. Residents will pay a $10.75 monthly solid waste fee plus $1.25 for extra bags, with a warm-up period for 3,800 new participants and a pilot history for 4,900 homes. Recyclables include metals plastics cardboard and paper. new side-loading trucks with glass compartment slated for next spring.
