City reports 103rd polio case as Mrs. Milton Eye identified
One new polio case was reported in Cedar Rapids raising the season total to 103. The patient, 31 year old Mrs. Milton Eye of 627 Nineteenth Street NW, diagnosed at Mercy Hospital and transferred to University Hospital at Iowa City in satisfactory condition. Mercy also reported Barbara Baldwin, 6, sent to Iowa City for complications. Nine polio patients remained in treatment at Mercy.

Largest Cedar Rapids street oiling program completed
City Treasurer Walter E. Miller reported Cedar Rapids finished one of the largest street oiling programs in the city’s history with a total cost of 22 759.38. As of Friday 10 415 73 had been collected and 12 342 65 remained due. Citizens were told how much they owe by postcard and can pay now at City Hall or by mail, with in person visits accepted weekdays 8 to 5 and Saturdays until noon.

Meling Suit Against M and St L Dismissed
A $20,000 damage suit filed by John Meling administrator of Evelyn Meling's estate against the Minneapolis and St. Louis Railway was dismissed with prejudice at the defendant's cost.
