Needlework Guild marks 50th anniversary with city drive
The Needlework Guild of America celebrates its fiftieth anniversary as it runs a citywide collection drive for new garments. Guild members ask residents to donate two items or a money gift, supporting 12 distribution channels including local schools where sweaters and warm underwear aid cold children. The Cedar Rapids branch, led by Mrs. Charles W. Bingham, plans a luncheon October 29 at the Hotel Roosevelt to launch annual collection efforts.
