Public safety: life prisoner Atwell Conner dies in prison
A 71 year old man serving life for the 1974 Cedar Rapids murder and sexual assault of Maureen Connolly died Sunday in hospice at Anamosa State Penitentiary. Officials say he died of natural causes related to colon cancer after being found unresponsive.
