Cedar Rapids plans a 143000 project to raise one third of a mile of the Sac and Fox Trail between Mount Vernon and Rosedale roads. Parks chief Daniel Gibbins says new ditches and culverts will keep water off the crushed rock path and work should finish by spring.
The University of Iowa College of Law publicly launched a $50 million fundraising campaign called Iowa Inspired. It has raised $28 million in a quiet phase with over 200 alumni and supporters attending the kickoff. The effort funds student and faculty support, programs, and a new student commons at the Boyd Law Building.
Johnson County Sheriff's Office offers new jail tours to boost support for a $46.8 million bond on the November 6 ballot to build a criminal justice center with jail and court space.
