Police and KCRG To Aid Traffic With Helicopter
Cedar Rapids police will relay aerial traffic reports from a helicopter over Highway 218 after the Iowa Iowa State football game with KCRG. Traffic Captain Henry Overman will use a portable radio to send messages to headquarters and then to the station. Weather permitting the first Iowa police aerial traffic reports will air after the game. The helicopter is donated by William Stark Cedar Rapids contractor. Detours suggested include L Street to Sixth Street Sixteenth Avenue SW and alternate routes to Iowa City via Bowling Street and Highway 30.
