Frank J. Chadima, 60, filed papers to enter Cedar Rapids mayoral race joining incumbent Jim Meaghan in the city primary on October 22. Chadima, a former fire captain and longtime local worker, seeks the $8,300 post.
The organization continues its year-round program of appearances at multiple institutions funded by the annual Parade of Barber Shop Quarters. This year's parade is scheduled for November 16 and proceeds support the outreach efforts.
Mr. and Mrs Reginald Sorensen of England will lecture Sunday at 7 30 p m in the West Gallery Coe auditorium. The Cedar Rapids Barber Shop Chorus will travel to Celwein Thursday for an inter chapter songfest with SPEBSQSA. Delaine Sather notes this is the first of three October outings, including a Sunday performance at Bethel A.M.E. Church and the Halloween party at Oakdale Sanitarium.

A Grand Rapids native, she studied commercial art at Grand Rapids junior college and Michigan State University, then worked three years in Herpolsheimer's advertising department before joining Newman's Cedar Rapids operation. She arrived Sept. 1 after serving as a proof girl and copy writer and completing Allied Corporation executive training.
