House Is Moved Across Wapsie At Troy Mills
It took seven hours to move a 16 by 22 foot one story house across the Wapsie river at Troy Mills. Carl Buck bought the house from Harlin Cook and moved it to a site northwest of Walker with rigging from a tractor to balance the trailer attached to a truck. A second truck aided the tow while boulders on the river bed made the effort precarious. The moving van rested on the opposite bank Wednesday morning, ready to proceed to the main road.
