Johnston mother charged after leaving kids during 11 day Europe trip

Erin Lee Macke 30 was arrested on child endangerment and giving a minor access to a gun after leaving her four children ages 6 to 12 alone in Johnston on Sept 20 while she visited relatives in Germany for 11 days. Police say a gun and ammunition were left on an open shelf. she returned a week later and appeared in Polk County Court with a $9,000 bond.
