Keith strengthens to hurricane threats Yucatan coast
Tropical Storm Keith strengthened into a hurricane and threatened Mexico's Yucatan peninsula with heavy rain, surges, and flooding. A hurricane warning covered the eastern Yucatan from Cabo Catoche to Monkey River Town, as Keith moved northwest and hovered about 105 miles east southeast of Chetumal. Joyce approached the Windward Islands prompting warnings for Trinidad Tobago and Grenada while Barbados and other isles eyed tropical storm watches.
