John Svoboda age 26 operator for Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Railway at Swisher died from an electric shock at 5 a.m. Saturday when touching a live wire believed 33 000 volts. Coroner and witnesses described a sudden flash and groan as Svoboda was found on the floor. He lived with his parents in Swisher and leaves three sisters and a brother plus grandparents. Born in South Amana November 1905 he had resided in Johnson County all his life. Body to Cedar Rapids for funeral arrangements at Lesinger Polansky chapel.
