Cedar Rapids school board reinstates 1971-72 pay plan
The Cedar Rapids Community school board voted to return to the 1971-72 salary schedule for staff payments, yielding about a 5.49 percent raise for the year. The raise aligns with the 5.5 percent guideline from the President. Initial plans had shown 6.27 percent, but Phase I wage-price freeze reduced it by .78 percent. The board may retroactively pay withheld wages. Budget actions include a tentative 1972-73 district budget of 25,178,986, pending state review and a final adoption in July.
