HACAP Moves to New Quarters at 320 1th Ave SE
Hawkeye Area Community Action Program will relocate to 320 1th Ave SE as three stage move completes. The Cherry Building will house weatherization, elderly work project, Tool Library, with 3 000 square feet dry storage 1 000 square feet cold storage and 6 000 square feet of offices. HACAP leases for 28 200 dollars yearly. Parking includes 30 off street spaces and on street. The old site at 105 Eighth Ave SE remains in use under Life Investors Insurance.

Steven D. Marsden, one of 12 arrested during Aug. 7 anti-nuclear protests at Offutt Air Force Base, started a 30 day federal sentence Monday in Linn County Jail. He was sentenced Nov. 2 in federal court and serves there because Linn County Jail is the nearest federally approved facility to his home.

Three motorists charged with drunk driving in Linn County
Ricky J. Conley, 23, of Anamosa was arrested at 1:50 a.m. for drunk driving and wrong-way on a one-way street in the 900 block of Daniels Street NE. Robert L. Wagner, 21, of 1625 Sixth Ave. SW was arrested at 11:10 p.m. at Highway 150 and Blairs Ferry Road NE on a second-offense drunken driving charge. Edward W. West, 49, of 3428 Hemlock Place NE was arrested at 11:45 p.m. two miles north of Center Point for speeding and drunk driving.
