Four Iowa Entries Edged in International Junior Steer Show
In Chicago at the International Livestock Exposition, a 1,300 pound Ace High steered by Greg Gruhn of Lanark Illinois won grand champion over four Iowa entries in the junior steer show. Reserve grand champion Shane, a 1,200 pound Chianina Hereford Angus cross, shown by Colette Stille of Storm Lake Iowa, also topped its crossbred class. Gruhn clinched his first win after seven years in the event while Stille adds a third reserve championship to her record. Three Eastern Iowans are noted among the participants.
