Winterizing Iowa snowplows tests blades and blue lights
The Iowa DOT runs trials on tung sten carbide rubber and steel plow blades at Cedar Rapids to see which lasts longest and clears concrete best. They test sensors, hoses, GPS, salt and brine mix, and new routes while rolling out blue and amber emergency lighting.
