Iowa's Road Share Set for $8.67 Million Aid
Washington AP reports the federal government allocates 400 million dollars for road building to states and territories. Iowa's portion amounts to 8.67 million with 4.28 million for primary highways 3.13 million for secondary roads and 1.26 million for urban highways through cities over 5 000. The State Highway Commission will select projects and federal approval is needed for contracts. Funds must be used by June 30 1954.

Two from Van Horne Injured in Accident
Mrs Minnie Kanke and Nero Bryant of Van Horne suffered minor injuries when their car rolled over on highway 218 south of Vinton Monday afternoon. Kanke was released after treatment at a Vinton hospital while Bryant remained hospitalized in good condition. The sheriff report said Kanke was driving and a pickup entered the highway from a side road prompting a swerve into a ditch to avoid a broadside collision.
