Isaac B. Smith aged 74 died at home on 500 Twenty-seventh street drive SE at 3 45 a m Friday. Nettie E Armstrong 68 of Whittier died in a local hospital at 5 45 p m Thursday. Bonita Jean Sosa four daughter of Mr and Mrs Harold Power 1526 Bever avenue SE died in a local hospital at 6 30 a m Friday.

The Sioux City Journal and the Sioux City Tribune announce a merger of mechanical circulation and business departments creating a single company to publish both papers under one roof. The Tribune will move to the Journal plant with a morning Journal and an evening paper bearing the combined masthead. The Sunday Journal remains a Sunday morning issue. The new firm, published in Des Moines, will be named Journal and Tribune Publishing. Directors include W. H. Sammons and Will R. Perkins.

Bonita Jean Power died at 6 30 a m Friday at a local hospital after a lingering illness. Born in Rapids February 21 1937 she is survived by her parents several uncles and aunts. Funeral services led by Msgr J M Molloy will be at Immaculate Conception Church Monday at 9 a m with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. The body will be taken from Monahan funeral home Saturday afternoon to the residence where friends may call.
Secretary of State Cordell Hull charged that Finland fully cooperates with Hitler in the war against the Soviet Union. He criticized Finland for signing the anti Comintern pact in Berlin and said the move is used by Hitler to wage a war of conquest and domination.

Approximately 12 gallons of gasoline were stolen from the Linn County road shop pump in Center Point on a night between Wednesday and Thursday. County official William Behrens reported the theft to the sheriff on Friday. Deputy Larry Condon said an unknown person broke into the front door, took a key and unlocked the outside pump.
