Washington County Hospital and Clinics plans to eliminate its obstetric unit due to low births and rising costs. The board approved the change, with obstetrics care ending after June 1 while emergency and inpatient services expand.

Police investigate an armed robbery at Walgreens 2214 Muscatine Ave in Iowa City. Two suspects approached the counter, one displayed a handgun, they took an undisclosed amount of medication and fled. No injuries reported. Crime Stoppers offers up to 1000 dollars for information.
