Iowa faces wake up call on drug alcohol and self harm deaths
The 200 page Pain in the Nation report warns Iowa deaths from drugs alcohol and self harm will rise 36 percent 2015 to 2025 totaling about 46 per 100 000 and over 1400 lives. Nationally 1.6 million deaths projected 2016–2025. The report cites CDC Well Being Trust and Trust for America’s Health. It notes opioid crises continue and rural areas are hard hit.
