New York AP The Doonesbury creator Garry Trudeau co sponsors a hunger awareness campaign with Charles Schulz Milton Caniff and 175 leading cartoonists. On Thanksgiving Day strips address hunger and newspapers host ads for USA for Africa. Artwork tours exhibitions auctions and a book are planned.
Police nabbed a 15-year-old Cedar Rapids youth on the north west side after reports of a suspicious old lady peeking into windows. Officers found a dress wig and a pellet pistol in a bag as the boy rode away on a camouflaged bicycle and later admitted under care of a psychologist. The Youth Bureau referred the case with no charges filed.
