Thieu Sees Saigon Sovereignty Respected in Paris Talks
Thieu answered questions from four Saigon reporters after addressing talks, asserting South Vietnam's sovereignty and rejecting NLF recognition. He noted possible cabinet changes for efficiency and said one man one vote cannot apply to active NLF members unless they disarm, then citizens could be treated alike. The United States pledged cooperation with Saigon but rejected veto rights, and Hanoi pressed to end reconnaissance flights amid stalled negotiations.
