Iowa appeals court upholds murder conviction
The Iowa Court of Appeals upheld Ginger Jefferson's 2013 murder verdict in Tama County. A jury found her guilty of first degree murder in the stabbing death of Kerry O Clair Jefferson, 32, on Sept 25 2013, after a family argument. The defense argued ineffective counsel over a police interrogation recording, but the court ruled the outcome would not have changed. Jefferson’s son Dustin Jefferson, 40, was later arrested for aiding and abetting, with a retrial set for Feb 2 in Jasper County.
