Waste site zoning ruling upheld by Iowa Court of Appeals

Summit School offers Orton-Gillingham reading course

Eastern Iowa family awaits 2004 trial in medical suit
Amy Sater and her parents Harold and Corinne Sater of Low Moor sue Dr. Alan Skora De Witt Medical Center and De Witt Community Hospital over a 2000 appendectomy. They claim a major artery was cut causing internal hemorrhage and lifelong disabilities including paralysis and brain injury. The trial was set for February 4 2004.

National Guard promotes former Eastern Iowan
Mark Zirkelbach of Anamosa and Monticello High School alum is promoted to brigadier general in the Iowa Army National Guard effective October 31. A ceremony led by Maj. Gen. Ron Dardis will be held at Camp Dodge Johnston at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Zirkelbach, a Cedar Falls native living in Johnston, has a long service record including command of the 234th Signal Battalion. He is married with three children.
