Dubuque Debates Park Fee After Eagle Point Boycott
The Dubuque City Council defended a $1 per carload admission fee at Eagle Point Park amid a boycott that reduced park traffic by about 85 percent. Councilmember Rhonda Kronfeldt argued for the fee to fund an adjacent 55 acre park while Terry Trueblood noted savings from reduced vandalism and wear. Attendance shifted to other parks as residents questioned park funding through taxes and several expect a possible season pass next year.
