Tragedy as gasoline truck collides with train in Kenner
A Mobil driver tried to beat a crossing and a tanker loaded with 8600 gallons of gasoline exploded after colliding with an Illinois Central Gulf train in Kenner Louisiana. Seven killed, a bar leveled, power outages, and 200 to 300 evacuated as flames rose and burning poles fell. The driver Glendon Russey 36 of Baton Rouge faces seven counts of negligent homicide. The victims included six in Buck's and Chuck's bar and 6 month old Heidi McGill in a car at the crossing.
