Cedar Rapids sees drop in shootings amid arrests and patrols
Cedar Rapids reports ninety shootings this year, six fewer than last year, with the worst period in June to August and a notable decline after September. Police Chief Wayne Jerman credits focused officer work, arrests, and joint efforts with the FBI and U.S. Attorney, while noting most incidents are targeted rather than random.
