Forger or Inscription on James Ossuary Examined

The Jesus phrase on the James ossuary may be a forger, with ROM displaying the box through Dec. 29 awaiting further Israel Antiquities Authority tests. Lemaire notes the key question is whether the inscription mentions biblical James, estimating 1st century Jerusalem had about 20 men named James with a father Joseph and a brother Jesus. Oded Golan cites Tel Aviv statistician Camil Fuchs narrowing odds to three people, or one, after excluding non Jews, minors, illiterates, and those unable to afford ossuary burial.
