A Michigan jury finds Herman Barmore guilty of second degree murder in the Evanston Illinois Boy Scout slaying case. The New York ex convict faces up to life imprisonment. sentencing date not set by Circuit Judge Henry Beers.
In Glenwood AP report widow Mrs Avis Hatcher urged leniency for Panard D B Roller, a 21 year old whose sentence was suspended and who had been paroled to the State Parole Board for good behavior. Judge Bennett Cullison had earlier sentenced Roller to eight years in Anamosa Reformatory for the collision that killed Irwin Hater on Aug 30 near the city limits.
A five member committee appointed by Gov. Loveless will study Iowa town parole practices. The group includes Dr. Pau Huston of the State hospital and Rep. Swisher and Rev. William C. J. Marfeey among others. They will report findings and propose legislative and administrative changes.

A 65-year-old woman was bound with rope and beaten to death in her bungalow. Her husband, Renven 74, was bound and injured. two rooming-house owners reported seeing strangers and a financial jewel loss including cash, three diamond rings, and a fur book. Police questioned several transient renters and sought a description of suspects after a four-state alert. The husband survived and assisted officers with the investigation.
