Iowa Life Home to more than parking
Harold and Nancy Plate began a backyard parking business near Kinnick Stadium in University Heights in 1962. Now in its 50th year the duo still hosts crowds, charging 30 dollars per car for over 40 spots while neighbors and fans continue visiting on Saturdays during Hawkeye football season. John Dane and his family have long supported the Plates, driving from outside Iowa City for games.

Cedar Rapids Marion Annexation Line Approved for Ten Years
Cedar Rapids and Marion agreed to a new annexation line paralleling C Avenue NE between East Robins Road and County Home Road. The line, effective for 10 years from Nov 7, moves about 70 acres south of Echo Hill Road to Marion, aligning growth with topography and drainage. City managers Jeff Pomeranz and Lon Pluckhahn said the move does not indicate future unincorporated-area annexations.
