Dupree shines as Sooners tailor offense to star freshman
Marcus Dupree, praised by Barry Switzer as the greatest talent he has seen, leads Oklahoma with 671 yards and 10 touchdowns in six games after switching to an I formation. Coaches rank the Philadelphia Miss. freshman among the nation’s top backs, with five Big Eight coaches wanting him on their team. Dupree plays partly for his 10-year-old cerebral palsy brother Reggie, who likes to watch him run.
